PAUL McCARTNEY RETURNS TO CLOSE CANDLESTICK PARK
It was an emotional night for Paul McCartney on Thursday (August 14th) when he returned to San Francisco’s Candlestick Park, the site of the final Beatles‘ concert on August 29th, 1966. McCartney made plans to play the stadium soon after the news of it being demolished later this year. McCartney tipped his hat to the past by singing Little Richard‘s “Long Tall Sally” — which was the last song the Beatles performed at their 1966 gig.

As he performed the tune, classic shots of the “Fab Four” at Candlestick flashed on the screens. Also featured in the set was Jesse Fuller‘s “San Francisco Bay Blues” — a longtime McCartney favorite that appeared on his 1991 Unplugged collection.
